Offer to Schools

Farm Life offers either morning or afternoon sessions where learners have the opportunity to participate in a variety of farming activities.

Schools book a block of half termly, half day sessions for a group of up to six students (transport and appropriate levels of staff supervision is the responsibility of schools / settings).

Visitors use our Farm Life classroom where we offer hot and cold drinks. We have toilets and handwashing facilities on site. We also offer the use of waterproof clothing and footwear.

Activities are planned around the farming calendar and include:

-daily tasks involved in the care of sheep, donkeys, chickens, horses and alpacas

-observing and assisting in health and maintenance activities involved in caring for sheep (lambing, shearing, footcare, weighing, condition scoring, administering medicine, daily health checks)

-bottle feeding orphan lambs

-exercising alpacas

-opportunities to work with and train sheepdogs

-assisting with dismantling and repairing fencing and other land management tasks

-horticulture and tree planting
